To apply to the Gifted and Talented Program:
- All students are welcome to visit the Gifted & Talented (GT) table at the AP & Elective Fair in the spring or reach out to the GT Program Coordinator with specific questions.
- In the event that a student would like to pursue a specific path that aligns with one of the options in the GT program, it is the student’s responsibility to communicate that interest to their school counselor and request a GT application. If the student’s request is appropriate for the GT Program, the student will receive an invitation from the Gifted and Talented (GT) Coordinator to join a Google Classroom. This is the channel through which prospective students will receive important information, access to an application, and support during the application process.
- All program applications require parent/guardian approval via digital signature
- Please see the table below for GT application windows. Application deadlines vary year to year based on the school calendar; no extensions are accepted.
- Students who apply for the GT Independent Study Program must sit for a formal group interview with other prospective GT students and MHRD faculty, including the GT Coordinator, the building principal, and the Assistant Superintendent.
- Interviews typically take place in April and May and students are notified of acceptances before the end of the school year.
